My flying history :
1969 Joined Royal Navy Gliding Club at Lossiemouth flying fromDiversion Airfield
at Milltown. Gliders were T21's, Bocians and Blaniks. Taught how to drive the Ford V8 tow truck used for launching driving
down the runway looking backwards watching the glider being towed!
Experienced first exciting thermal flights and
magic wave lift over the Scottish Cairngorm Mountains after aero tows to 2,000'.
1977 Hang Gliding
course in South Wales with Gerry Breen (now runs Algarve Air Sports Centre in Lagos Portugal).
1978 Weeks
holiday at Rhossili in South Wales flying with friends from the Dales Hang Gliding Club. Learnt to fly small 'light wind'
thermals popping off the beach in the noon day sun. careful flying allowed a top landing again and no 'long retrieve'
carrying an 85lb glider up a 600 foot hill!

My career :
I qualified as a Dental Surgeon at Leeds where I also met my wife, Karen who is now an Associate Specialist
in Rheumatology.
We have three children, Daniel, Luke and Kate. Daniel is married to Ruth and have recently had their
first child Agbigail Grace.
Luke has recently got engaged to Ruthie. Kate is finishing a drama course at LISPA (Londo
International School for performing Arts) in Londo and is setting up a drama company, Glass Eye Theatre.
My private
dental practice is in West Moors, just north of Ferndown (10 miles north of Bournemouth.) Established in 1982 we now have
a purpose built modern practice.
I have a dental business partner, Dr Terry Moon along with practice manager Amanda and
several support staff including a dental therapist Cheryl and hygieneist Lee.
We offer general private dentistry with
an emphasis on cosmetic and preventive treatments. These include 'Smile Designs', teeth whitening and mercury
amalgam filling replacements using Cerec CAD CAM
